Domainfest – Day 3

Day three started off with another session of PITCHfest where Rapid Domain Builder ended up taking home the award this time. They were up against DevRich, Skinected, and Root Orange — who walked away with the People’s Choice Award, congratulations guys!

Fairmont Miramar Hotel

After another lovely lunch outside it was time for the Moniker Premium Live Auction. The auction lasted four hours and generated over $920,000 in sales — the big sellers being LoanCalculator.com for $215,000 and GolfLessons.com for $65,000.

Now that the business day was over it was time for the real fun to begin.

Girl Party at the Huntley Hotel

Before heading off to the Playboy Mansion for the DomainSponsor party, we stopped off at the Huntley Hotel for an awesome (and much needed) girl party — a tradition we hope to continue at future events. To quote Kate (missfaucher), women in the domain industry..who knew?!

Playboy Mansion Party

After a little champagne to get us warmed up it was time for the highlight event of the conference. We hopped on a fleet of buses and headed to the Playboy Mansion for an extravagant party and fundraiser benefiting Jenny McCarthy’s Generation Rescue Foundation. With close to 200 models hired for the night, it was quite the experience.

All in all DOMAINfest 2010 was an impressive event that has us very excited about all of the cool things happening in the industry. It also presented us with some excellent networking opportunities. We look forward to seeing a lot of familiar faces when we head to New Orleans in just a week and a half for Domainer Mardi Gras.
