Name.com offering “real” $6.99 transfers!

We’re out there listening every day on Twitter, forums and blogs and we see so many people who are unhappy with their current registrar. For those that are tired of settling for the status quo, we are excited to announce that Name.com is now offering a “real” $6.99 transfer promotion for .COM and .NET domains. We say “real” because there are no hidden costs, no promo codes, no limit to the number domains you can transfer, no secret handshake, and you only pay $6.99 per domain! Also, when you transfer your domain to Name.com we add an additional year of  registration to your current renewal date for FREE. In addition to .COM and .NET, our transfer pricing for other extensions is extremely competitive, you can see our complete pricing list below:

We also want to help our customers save money this year in another way.  As some of you are probably aware, Verisign is increasing the price of .COM and .NET registrations on July 1, 2010, so transferring your domains now will save you money, lots of money.  When you transfer your domain you extend your renewal period for an additional year for free. Avoid paying higher renewal costs for an additional twelve months and save as much as $3 per domain by transferring to us today!

We’re confident that with our services, tools, and customer support we can turn your headaches into smiles and groans into sighs of relief. We think you deserve better and we can offer you better and put money back in your pocket at the same time!

coming to transfer a few from Godaddy. lol

  • BuddaMagoo

Sad timing, considering I'm still looking for a registrar to transfer away to. That whole Privacy fiasco completely killed my trust with your company.

    • namedotcom

      Hi BuddaMagoo,

We agree we could have handled that better, all we can do is try to learn and improve going forward. If you decide to stick around you'll start to see some cool things happening around here, all of which are focused on making your experience a better one. We'd love a chance to restore your trust, but we understand if you move on.

      Best regards,
      Lesley

It is still not too late to start handling it better. Any change in privacy protection policy need not be proactive. Free Privacy Protection for customers prior to the policy change should (and still could) be grandfathered-in. That would go a long way to restoring the faith, satisfaction, and retention of the previous bedrock customers, while still allowing for the generation of additional revenue by new customers post policy change.

        Best regards,
        Jared

      Hi inbnuasad,

Unfortunately that transfer will be only be running until June 30. :(

How many domains are you looking to transfer?

I want to transfer my domain. Have you offer lowest price for me now ?

    • namedotcom

      Hi xiaoyu,

Unfortunately since the com/net prices increased in June, we are no longer offering $6.99 transfers. However, com/net transfers are currently at $7.75, which is a great price. We have more info here: https://www.name.com/domain-transfer
